LA COTE SAUVAGE

There were black and white 1950’s detective movies playing every night on late night television. Televisions with valves. Black and white 1950’s detective movies playing every night At the Ritzy cinema in Brixton. Heavy rain, the street corner light is illuminating a shadowy figure, coat collar turned up.
.

A change of reel and there are footsteps leading into that strange world of pre-sleep, pre-nightmare, of falling away, slipping away into Burroughs, Robbe Grillet, the Velvet Underground. There was something happening. Something happened. It was obsession. It must have been love. Dark exaggeration?

Burroughs quoted, “Everything is possible because nothing is true”.

UGLINESS

 .
.

Stumble and tumble do we through ages of cobwebs
Hence, tightly wrapped, are thus forever trapped

Sepia termites have digested our ramshackle scenery
Pastel brown moths our threadbare costumes

.

Bluebottle larvae feast on our flesh

Bluebottle fly tumbles he through ages of cobwebs
Hence, tightly sealed, by and by escapes a butterfly
